The focus of this conference is on fundamental understanding of the structure and properties of magnetic materials and their applications in novel spintronic devices (for example for logic, sensing and communication). We welcome theoretical and experimental research spanning from fundamental investigations to technological applications. The conference will provide both experts and newcomers with a rounded overview of emerging topics and challenges in the field, and provide an opportunity for in-depth discussion and exchange of ideas. The conference will be held 8-10 June in the historic city of York, UK.
The conference is organised in the context of the International Network for Spintronics. The broad aim of this network is to demonstrate new spintronic logic concepts with low-energy consumption by developing new magnetic materials, designing new logic circuits and characterising them for yield improvement. The Network for Spintronics is based on collaborations between the Universities of York, Manchester and Leeds in the UK and leading institutions in Europe (RPTU Kaiserslautern and Spintec) and Japan (Tohoku University and National Institute for Materials Science).
